Short Bio

I'm a software engineer and builder with about eight years in tech, and a whole other life before that — carpentry, catering, trades work — which gave me a practical, get-it-done sensibility I've never lost. I'm primarily a frontend engineer by specialty, but I've always worked across the full stack: UI, backend, databases, deployment, design, and everything in between.

These days I build with React, TypeScript, Next.js, Tailwind, and Supabase, and I've gone deep on AI-native development — using Cursor as my primary IDE and integrating LLM APIs like Claude and OpenAI into real projects. I'm most at home in environments where the problems are interesting, the team is small, and ownership is high.

Career

The formative experience of my career was joining Macro as employee number one. I owned everything on the frontend — engineering, UI/UX design, brand illustration, landing pages, internal tooling — and helped navigate the company through a full product pivot before it was acquired by Mmhmm. That experience taught me what it actually means to build a product from zero, operate under pressure, and care about the outcome as much as the craft.

After the acquisition I founded PixelPunk, an independent web development consultancy where I've worked with around 30 clients over five years — managing everything from the first conversation through final delivery. Running a solo shop has made me a better engineer, a better communicator, and genuinely resourceful in ways that only come from full accountability.
